We offer composite bonding at Brookside Dental to help you achieve an even more dazzling smile.
Both!…..
We strongly recommend completing a course of teeth whitening before starting on your bonding journey, allowing the dentist to then match the new whiter colour with the composite material used.
Once bonding is completed, we will make you a new retainer to use every night to protect the bonding from grinding forces, and you can use this retainer to keep the whitening topped up long term.
You might not stop smiling!
But really, bonding is very minimal and we rarely need to damage the underlying tooth at all, maybe just soften some corners, but apart from that we just layer composite over the natural teeth, so really no risk of any nerve damage or pain.
The main risk is the bonding can break if you are not careful and do not listen to our post-treatment advice.
However; the benefit of bonding is, it can be fixed.
We also recommend you attend for composite conditioning polish every 6 months to keep the bonding stain-free and looking fresh!
The main requirement to make sure your bonding lasts as long as possible is good oral hygiene!
A good brushing with an electric toothbrush 2 x per day and the use of a Fluoride mouthwash in the middle of the day.
On top of this, we recommend flossing daily, and the use of interdental brushes which should be correctly measured and prescribed by the dentist. You can dip the brush in a peroxyl mouthwash for greater effect.
Then finally we recommend attending for composite conditioning polish every 6 months minimum, to remove any stains, rebuff, re-sparkle and refresh the bonding.
The first polish is included then after that:
1-2 teeth – £30
6 teeth – £45
10 teeth £55
You must be careful with your teeth that have had bonding, this means:
We will also include a night-time protective retainer, which you must wear every night to protect the bonding or risk it breaking if you grind your teeth.
Where needed, a mock-up of the potential final result can be created for you (additional costs apply) which will allow you to preview any results of your cosmetic bonding treatment before you begin.
This is the SMILE TRIAL and is placed over your teeth to allow you to really see and feel what the final result will look like before you even commit.
This is where we take all the Xrays and measurements to help design your new smile.
We take a 3D scan of your teeth and a full set of photographs to make sure the new smile looks natural and in keeping with your facial form.
Here we allow you to test drive your new smile!
We literally transport the new smile design over your existing teeth to allow you to see and feel your new smile before we make it permanent.
You also get a 2 week home whitening kit to start straight away.
This is where we place the composite over your teeth to achieve the perfect smile, just as we agreed on your trial smile.
